Intention is our philosophy. Keefe Family Wines prides itself in minimal intervention winemaking. By understanding the biology of the vineyard and chemistry of the winemaking, we harvest each small plot at the best possible moment, dictated by mother nature. We harvest based on pH and acid levels to find the right balance, right place, guiding the grapes into the wine they were meant to be; allowing the vintage and the vineyard to speak through each bottle. A unique adventure in every bottle, just like in each of you, our customers. A way to connect with one’s nature, surroundings, and family in a simple sip of wine.
We bring intention and integrity into every vineyard we source from, every small batch of wine we create, and how we share it with you. We believe world-class wine should be enjoyed, shared, and accessible - not hidden behind prestige or status. That the best can be made right in front of you. Like many other pioneers in the industry, we take pride in our wine lovers being able to know any and all things about the product they are consuming.
Any questions, technical or not, can be sent our way and we would be happy to share information and have discussions

It all started with a bottle of wine, believe it or not. Specifically, a bottle of Barbaresco: 2008 Pianrosso Ca Del Baio Barbaresco. Before that ostensible bottle, our winemaker, Seatchle (and yes Seatchle is an alias), got his start doing research on Biodiesel fuel under a Department Of Energy (DOE) grant in Illinois. Once he graduated from Northern Illinois University with a Degree in Biology and Chemistry he began work in the metals industry assisting manufacturers with their temperature control. However, after that bottle of wine he uprooted his life in the midwest, took only what he could fit in his car, and drove out west to pursue his passion, wine. After his start at Patz & Hall, Seatchle worked in Organic Vineyards and with a multitude of varietals from many California AVAs over the years. Keefe Family Wines came to life by chance when Seatchle worked at Patz & Hall. In the midst of harvest season, managing every last fruit that came through the door, while working twelve hour shifts, our winemaker was offered a small amount of Oak Knoll Cabernet Sauvignon. Thus started the cycle of working twelve hour days and then figuring out how to start a winery at night. Over these years Seatchle has shown a commitment to the history and science of winemaking.
